I had just returned from a summer-break and made a choice to either pursue my Mechanical Engineering career path, or to return to WSU and start a second bachelor's degree in computer science, where I could then take the combined exposure of both fields and apply them cohesively (note: I had the original fascination of computer simulation modeling during my Finite Element Analysis graduate level class in mechanical engineering), not to specifically model dynamic systems including thermal systems, mechanical systems, hvac systems, or nuclear systems, but to take the principles of design and scope that Mechanical Engineering taught me, with Applied Mathematical Theory and fit that with the notion of computer animation.

However, I soon discovered and became unimpressed with the resources and curriculum of the computer science department, at WSU. The department offered a strong curriculum in advanced software animation, but lacked an industry standards core curriculum, a path that would have forced me into a small niche profession—a position I wanted to avoid at all costs. Because of this reason I did not hesitate to take a position at NeXT Software Inc. consisted of just over 300 people worldwide that, to this day, I draw from that experience applying directly towards all of my present professional career experiences.
